Mac VS PC You Decide

Mac VS PC You Decide

The long debate is still at full flow and with the PC still way out in front, we look at the option of Mac realistically catching it up. Firstly let's have a look and the positives and negatives of both systems.

MAC

Basically the Mac is totally different from a PC, if you have been using a PC for most of your life, then you may have a bit of trouble getting used to how a Mac operates. But once you have got used to it, the system does turn out to be very user friendly, another major advantage of Mac is that all of its software and hardware is developed in house, therefore it is not a third party creating different parts of the systems so it can be a lot more reliable.

But unfortunately a distinct disadvantage to the Mac is that it is very pricey, with the amount that you are paying for a Mac you could obtain yourself a very decent PC that does the job.

PC

As you know the traditional PCs and laptops are very popular, they already occupy around 90% of the home users market, the major benefits of a PC are that you have the ability to customise it anyway you like. For example you can add RAM to make it run faster; put in a bigger hard drive to store more information or upgrade your graphics card to play awesome games.

The only disadvantages that I can see from owning a PC is in the build, by adding so many different manufacturers' items, you never know what is compatible and what will or will not go wrong.

Conclusion

Well to be honest and on my personal opinion I would much rather own a PC rather than a Mac, the reason being because it costs me less and I feel that I can get many more benefits than I can with a Mac. There are so many programs that are compatible with a PC that I can almost do anything I wish.

With a Mac comes professionalism and there are some great tools if you are a designer or coder such as codex, but these are only minor aspects and I can get myself very similar pieces of software on the PC for a fraction of the cost.

I do not feel that the Mac will catch up to the PC any time soon, unless of course they have a lot more third party software compatibility and a lower price range.
